Professional service providers

CONTEXT

Many museums and heritage centres in the Highlands and Islands these days operate without any full time specialist help. This is adequate for smaller operations most of the time, but for certain things -  maybe a new accession, a website or an event - it becomes necessary to engage a freelance or outside agency to assist with the project. Quite often, these freelancers are hard to find - they may not advertise, or they may not operate outwith a specific geographical area.

WHAT WE HAVE DONE

We have compiled a list of PSPs (professional service providers) who we know have provided good work to heritage sector organisations in the area. Most, if not all of them, work largely within the Highlands and Islands, and most, if not all of them, live here.

WHAT IT IS AND WHAT IT IS NOT

Think of this as a word of mouth service. Please note, however, that this is not a recomendation from Heritage North or HIE. These folk are recomended to us and we pass that on. It is still up to you to negotiate rates and terms engagement with them It is always good practice to ask for reference sites of previous work. If you have any comments, please get back to us.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

In addition, if you have had any good experiences with freelancers, tell us about it. We can get in touch with them and add them to the list, if they so desire. This list, like Heritage North itself, is a work in progress.

THE LIST

Please download the list from the foot of the page. The list will change irregularly as need dictates and the latest version will de dated below so check back every time you think you may need it.
