Another intriguing Pictish discovery made in Shetland

Another wonderful Pictish discovery has been made in Shetland. A sculptured stone decorated with mysterious symbols has been found in Cunningsburgh, a part of Shetland where many inscribed stones have been found over the years.

Quendale Mill highlights community art project

The Quendale Mill is to display a series of photographs taken in 2006 during a community art project. ‘Hands on the Past’ was part of the Shetland Museum and Archives Public Art Project and involved pupils from Anderson High School’s and Bells Brae Primary’s Additional Support Needs (ASN) Departments.

The stunning ironwork of Stornoway is the focus of a new exhibition. The celebration of the amazing decorative cast ironwork will go on display at Museum nan Eilean from April 9 in a joint project between Historic Scotland and Comhairle nan Eilean Siar. The exhibition will run until the end of the year.
