Welcome to the Learning Zone

This is the fruition of the Skills Building for the Future heritage skills development project. This was funded by the Scottish Government's Regional Development Challenge Fund, and administered by Rowan Tree Consulting. It demonstrated multi-level partnership working between Highlands and Islands Enterprise, Museums Galleries Scotland, The Highland Council, Argyll and Bute Council, Moray Council, Shetland Islands Council, Orkney Islands Council, Comhairle nan Eilean Siar and HI~Arts.

The project was a free face-to-face training initiative for all people active in the heritage sector in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland. As a legacy to the outstanding success of this project, an extension provided resources to lodge training notes of the most popular of the training courses online. This archive will act as a reference point for those trainees and their colleagues.

Below you will find link to courses. On the course page you will find details of the course, links to the trainers' website and links to related web pages of interest.

These pages are free to view, but downloading the actual course material will require registration. To register you have to be a participant in the heritage sector of the Highlands and Islands. Registration will available here shortly.

This site is still under development and all potential registrants will receive an invitation email, by the end of November.
