Back by popular demand at the Nairn Museum 5th July to 25th August, ‘Moving Automata’ a wonderful show, not to be missed!

Maria and Michael Start and The House of Automata, Britain’s only specialist Automata company, are delighted to be exhibiting their very special collection at the Nairn Museum.

You are invited to meet a cast of characters that have entertained us for a century or more with their mechanical routines. Powered by clockwork these strange and rare machines fix us with their glassy stare and seduce us into an unforgettable dream.

Meet Nancy, the glamorous seamstress, larger than life and courted by the rich and famous, aged 110 but still a modern girl, she has over 100,000 online admirers.

Then, there's Boris, the cuddly vodka drinking bear, whose claim to fame is nothing less than having saved the world from Nuclear war after melting the heart of Russian minister Gromyko during the 'cold war'.

Nancy and Boris are joined by circus performers, trained rabbits, magicians, the singing birds of Alexandria, miniature grottos, performing monkeys, Strongmen and great beauties undimmed by time.

New for 2010, there's a host of push button contemporary pieces, guaranteed to raise a giggle.
