Care of paper and photographic collections

The principal aim of this course is to explain the particular requirements of works on paper and photographs in terms of their preservation and management of their care.

By the end of this course participants will be able to

• appreciate the varied nature of paper and photographic collections
• understand the optimum environmental conditions for the storage and display of these collections
• be able to recognise damage, understand how it was sustained and know how to prevent it
• be aware if the storage solutions of various types of paper and photographic objects
• know when to call in a specialist conservator
