Set on the waterfront, within a restored 19th century dock, the Shetland Museum and Archives is the starting point for anyone who wants to know more about Shetland. <br><br> With over 3000 artefacts encompasing all aspects of Shetland's heritage and culture and an archive facility offering access to a wealth of local history material, it introduces Shetland's story and provides a gateway to other local sites of interest. <br><br> There is also a cafe restaurant, auditorium, learning and research rooms, temporary exhibition space and shop.
