Powerful and professional creative communication sometimes seems out of the reach of small organisations, especially in the voluntary and public sectors yet, to say what needs saying is important. Good quality design needn't be impossibly expensive. Current technology can produce attractive, interesting and innovative results in dvd and digital media, or in print without breaking the bank and without losing sight of your core values. Technology, used appropriately, can give people a voice and keep them involved every step of the way. In six years, film-maker and designer, Brian Hill, has produced over 40 short to full-length DVDs based on the stories and direct testimony of people who use community and healthcare services. A key member of the Connecting Communities Media Project in the Highlands, Brian also designed, edited and published five Annual Reports, five leaflets as well as several information packs, conference programmes, and reports. The work now continues in this new incarnation established at the end of 2007. Other creative credits include, five full-scale publiching projects, one stage play, a handful of web sites, and several planetarium shows in collaboration witH CosmicSky Productions and funded by NESTA.
