Published in March 2007, Hands On is intended to help early years and primary school educators engage with object-based learning.

Produced by the Scottish Museums Council, in collaboration with Glasgow Museums, the publication is a step-by-step guide to working with everyday and museum objects to promote enjoyment and develop learning skills in young people.

Links are made throughout between object-based learning activities and the Curriculum for Excellence. Hands On is intended to encourage educators to forge links with museums and make the most of Scotland’s fascinating heritage within the context of the new curriculum.
